Jan is responsible for all administrative, fundraising, and programming funcitions at Dads Make a Difference.  She serves as a liaison between DMAD and schools and community agencies statewide to increase our marketing and outreach to youth. In this capacity, she establishes relationships with staff and teens, conducts needs assessments to eliminate barriers to participation, addresses specific cultural needs, negotiates contacts between sites, and supports program delivery by serving as a consultant. Jan also coordinates teen trainings, trains teen peer educators, writes grants and plans fundraising events, does numerous presentations and workshops, and is editor of the DMAD newsletter.

Prior to joining the DMAD staff, Jan worked in the areas of youth service, service-learning, parent education, and after-school and summer programs. Jan has a Bachelor of Science in Youth Studies and a Master of Arts in Family Education, both from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. Her thesis looked at knowledge, attitude, and behavior changes in Dads Make a Difference teen trainers. Contact her via email for more information on her research.
